To spare you all the stories of Solange Kaye Marie Igoa, a strange child from Bakersfield California, we think it would be most appropriate to start her story on the streets of long beach. After years and years of no physical activity, a band geek/theatre kid found herself with a pair of roller skates. Solange’s recent skating career started with quite humble beginnings on a pair of ragged Chicago brand skates.

At her first open mic Solo Star ever went to, she arrived on her skates with her guitar on her back and came to the realization that she had forgotten her shoes at home miles away. So she decided to roll in and perform a song about rollerskating on her roller skates, and SoLo Star was born.
